Announcing OSG Software version 3.1.13

We are pleased to announce OSG Software version 3.1.13!

This is the new OSG Software distributed via RPMs for:

* Scientific Linux 5 and 6
* CentOS 5 and 6
* Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 and 6

This release affects a wided variety of installations. Changes include:

* Major updates to BeStMan 2 and related packages for SHA-2 support
* Packaging improvements in GUMS
* New package for Pakiti
* New package for OASIS configuration
* Fix UberFTP to avoid hangs when remote side crashes
* Update to the latest XRootD release
* Update the Gratia probes with several small fixes
* Fix HTCondor configuration for BLAHP
* Fix a few small issues with osg-cleanup
* Update osg-condor-flock for XSEDE gateway

OSG All Hands Meeting - Register Today

We are just over 5 weeks away from the OSG All Hands Meeting! The deadline for reserving rooms at the negotiated conference rate is February 9th. Details for accommodations can be found at http://pti.iu.edu/osgahm-2013/hotel_transportation. If you plan on attending please register and make your lodging arrangements soon.

The OSG Operations Center and Indiana University will be hosting the annual OSG All Hands Meeting on the week of March 11th on the downtown Indianapolis campus of IUPUI. Indiana University has been a long term core partner of the OSG and has provided operational infrastructure and support services since the inception of the project.

The scheduled topics include:
* Monday, March 11th: US ATLAS and CMS Tier 2/Tier 3 Facilities Meeting; Interoperations with EGI and WLCG
* Tuesday, March 12th: Campus Infrastructures Community Workshop
* Wednesday, March 13th: State of the OSG; Scienctific Highlights; Technology Discussion
* Thursday, March 14th: Technology Discussions and User/Admin Hands-On Sessions; Meetings will conclude at approximately lunchtime.
* OSG Council Meeting: Thursday afternoon and Friday morning

GOC Service Update - Tuesday, January 22nd at 14:00 UTC

The GOC will upgrade the following services beginning Tuesday, January 22nd, 2012 at 14:00 UTC. The GOC reserves 8 hours (14:00 - 22:00 UTC) in the unlikely event that unexpected problems are encountered. We encourage users to test affected services before the production release.

GOC-TX 1.29

Enabling XSEDE <> GOC ticket exchange (for production testing)
Reorged GOC-TX so that main component of GOC-TX can be distributed via github.


OIM 3.11

Fixed a bug prevent authenticated user to submit a host certificate request.
Added CN (regex) validator for host cert request [OSGPKI-255]
Added VO attribute to GridAdmin table, and updated various Grid Admin UIs. Updated GridAdmin / host certificate request related model to use VO grouping to determine if GridAdmin can approve certificate or not. [OSGPKI-266]
Fixed the issue where host certificate is submitted even if there are no GridAdmin found [OSGPKI-291]
Added VO selector to GridAdmin request form [OSGPKI-273]
Added IP/DN info for host certificate request [OSGPKI-256]
Updated the way unknown host cert request id error was handled (no more servletexception - just log.info)
Fixed incorrect next action label for host certificate request.
Removed requester_email / requester_phone fields from host certificate record

All Services

There will be OS updates; reboots will be required. Downtime should be minimal, and the usual high-availability mechanisms will be used to reduce service downtime even further and eliminate it in most cases. However, services may experience degraded performance, and the services without HA mechanisms (OIM and Twiki) will still experience brief downtimes.

OSG All Hands Meeting Reminder

Reminder, the OSG All Hands Meeting is coming fast, register today!

The OSG Operations Center and Indiana University will be hosting the annual OSG All Hands Meeting on the week of March 11th on the downtown Indianapolis campus of IUPUI. Indiana University has been a long term core partner of the OSG and has provided operational infrastructure and support services since the inception of the project. The choice of having IU and the OSG Operations Center host these meetings offers an excellent opportunity for collaborators to learn about the Operational and Support Services the community relies on to provide the Distributed High Throughput Computing environment provided by OSG.
